Homeless Prevention Program

EECPAC has received a large stimulus grant to provide rental assistance to Pasadena residents who have been affected by the economic downturn and are at the point of eviction.

For more information, call 626-797-2402.

Are you eligible for Homeless Prevention rental assistance?

You MAY be eligible for rental assistance if you fulfill the following requirements.
1. You must be a resident of Pasadena.
2. You must have a rental lease in your name.
3. Your income must be less than 50% of the Average Monthly Income for Los Angeles (includes Pasadena). (one person in the household: $2313 a month; two people: $2642 a month; 3 people $2975 a month).
4. You must have documentable income that will enable you to provide for this housing on a long term basis.
5. You will become homeless without this assistance.
6. You do not receive Section 8 or other government housing subsidies.
7. You are willing to participate in case management.
8. You can provide necessary documentation to back up what you say, including pay stubs, rental agreements, landlord verification documents, bank statements and other items. It is a felony to falsify such documents.

What if the person is already homeless?

A person who is homeless begins the process of securing housing at Passageways, which is the “passage way” to housing services in the City of Pasadena.
When there is no other appropriate housing available, and the client is very vulnerable (a pregnant woman, elderly person or family with young children), the Passageways’ staff will contact us for a motel voucher. We do not give out motel vouchers directly to clients.

Is there rental assistance for a person who is already homeless?
Union Station Homeless Services runs a program that in some cases assists homeless people with rental assistance. For initial guidelines, please go to their website: http://www.unionstationhs.org/housing.html
