The
Pantry at Friends In Deed
The Pantry
at Friends In Deed serves supplemental food to 200 low-income and homeless
households each week. Without our support, many would go hungry. To contact
the pantry directly, call 626-797-6072 or email liz@ecpac.net.
The only requirements for receiving food are identification for each member
of the family and proof of low-income status.
The Pantry is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10AM-3PM. Registration
is on Wednesdays between 10AM and 12 noon.
WHO
DO WE SERVE?
- A
disabled grandmother drives to Friends In Deed each week in her motorized
wheel chair. She financially supports her teenage grandson, who in turn
looks after her and helps her out with her physical needs. She receives
supplemental food from us to help make ends meet.
- A
schizophrenic mother of two children whose husband has recently been
in the hospital with a stroke comes to our pantry weekly. The food we
provide & the monitoring of her other needs help maintain the stability
of her family.
- Elderly,
disabled, families, mentally ill, homeless—all feel welcome and
come to us for supplemental food and emotional support. One of our regular
clients will turn 90 in September!
